January is a great time for whale watching on the Monterey Bay!
"There are two seasons for whale watching in Monterey Bay, home of a world-famous aquarium. Visit from mid-December through mid-April to see gray whales, dolphins and killer whales migrating, or visit from mid-April through mid-December to see humpback whales, blue whales, dolphins and killer whales. Visitors can see the whales closely from shore as they come to feed in the Monterey Submarine Canyon."
400 Degrees Gourmet Burgers & Fries Thanks to the Mirabel Hotel & Restaurant Group (Luca, Aubergine, etc.) there's a new burger joint in town! Food was simple and great...had cheeseburger, onion rings and the chopped wedge. Atmosphere was casual and had a nice buzz to it, word is already catching on and 400 Degrees has only been open for a little more than a day. Location is very convenient as well with togo pickup slot and back entrance in the Carmel Plaza parking lot. If you are dining in, they do validate. Although the ordering system (table gadget complete with games = kid magnet) was a little wonky since all the menu items were not in the system among other things (we ended up ordering the "old fashioned way" via human being), it appeared to be a process of working out the kinks a la Day Two.
Oh, and if you looking for other burger options, they do offer veggie, turkey (complete with cranberries), Kobe, albacore tuna, grilled chicken breast (southern chow-chow, louisiana BBQ sauce...mmmm) and of course, they will happily wrap your burger in lettuce to help you cut down/cut out your carbs.
Order up folks!!! Montery Links http://www.montereylinks.com
